Alesha’s Street Dance Stars – Live show

Today we travelled back to my fabulous hometown Manchester to film the live show for Alesha’s street dance stars. A cbbc show where dance crews of up to 12 young street dancers compete in a series of auditions, rounds and finals with one crew winning both the title of Alesha’s Street Dance Stars and some amazing prizes.
It was lots of fun and really inspirational to see so many talented and passionate young dancers. Look out for the show

Today I spent the day with the lovely Escala ladies who were performing at the highly anticipated ANTHEMS concert, at the Royal Albert Hall. They joined West End and Broadway singing sensation Kerry Ellis and legendary Queen star Brian May for the specially created live version of Anthems. There performance was amazing, they are so unbelievably talented!!

HD Brows for the lovely Rebecca Ferguson!! Rebecca was down in London for the weekend spending some time in the studio. So whilst she was down i went to see her for a bit of pampering. She had the fabulous HD Brow treatment to give herself perfectly shaped and immaculately groomed brows. The results were fantastic and really framed her face.

Make up for Plan B @ the O2 Arena London

Had a really cool night down at the O2 Arena for the Plan B concert. I went down to do makeup for Ben himself (which as you can imagine was quite minimal) and also for one of the girls who featured in one of his videos, and was also featuring in the stage show on the night. I did two hair and makeup looks for her, in the space of 50 minutes, which was pretty intense, but lots of fun.
His performance was AMAZING and the show was a sell out. Now back home ready for another early start!!

Make up for McFly and Escala

Today i was up very early to head north to Bolton Wanderers football ground where i was working with McFly and Escala. They had been asked to perform at a charity event to raise money for underprivileged children in the Bolton area.
Both McFly and Escala were lovely to work with, great fun. The girls looked stunning!!! We went for a really intense smokey look which really suited their sexy elegant style. Once i had made everybody look beautiful i was invited to have dinner and watch the performances. I really enjoyed the event and now im heading to Manchester for some family time

National Television Awards

Today we were down at the O2 Arena London for the National Television Awards. I was joined by Aleshas stylist and hair stylist to make her look super hot for the red carpet, and later to present an award with the lovely Holly Willoughby.

I headed down a little early to do Aleshas HD Brows so she looked extra groomed for camera and then we decided on a hair and makeup look to compliment the lovely dress Katie had brought down. Her over all look was really glamourous, and as her hair was back i had to ensure her skin looked completely flawless and radiant. I did a smokey eye making sure it was kept quite soft to keep the elegant feel and finished off with a glossy pink lip. She looked beautiful as usual, and her skin looked amazing!

HD Brow mania!!!!

With a whole host of celebrities now flaunting their immaculately groomed HD Brows on shows such as X factor and Strictly Come Dancing HD Brow mania is sweeping the nation.

A prime example of the radical transformation the HD treatment can achieve was on Cher Lloyd (X Factor). Nilam (the brow queen) managed to transform her unflattering, rounded and over plucked brow into the perfect HD shape that was fuller, more structured and perfectly framing her face. Demonstrating that the HD treatment can work for anyone.

Also, fashion week has also brought brows into major focus with trends from both SS11 and AW11 showing brows are having a big impact. With designers opting for a well groomed structured brow as opposed to the unkempt natural brow that was favoured in previous seasons.

Halloween SCD and GAY

Today was crazy!!! So busy, but so much fun. Started at the BBC studios at 10am to meet the team and prepare for the Halloween SCD show. The studio looked amazing and all the dancers outfits were fabulous.

Alesha was wearing a dark green outfit with feathers so i made the make up quite vampy to fit in with the feel of the show. She look stunning as always and really suited the dark lip colour.

Straight after the show i headed to Nadine to get her ready for her gig at GAY. She was wearing the most amazing outfit, so we went all out on the hair and makeup. She looked stunningggggg.

Finally home at 3am. Very productive day

Nadines first solo performance

Tonight was Nadines first live performance of Insatiable on The Paul O Grady show. She absolutely smaaassshhhheeedddddd it. Her voice is actually insane, so amazingly talented, and to top it off she looked ridiculously hot. I did her an intense smokey eye which looked perfect with her little black leather dress. It was such a fun show and we decided to celebrate after with a lil glass of vino Perfect!!! Another fun day tomorrow at Strictly Come Dancing xx

Insatiable

Action packed promo day today all over London. Nadine was being interviewed for several different shows and magazines, finishing off the day at the T4 studios.

Everyone wanted to know about life in LA, her recent engagement and most of all her exciting new solo career. Nadine is such a lovely person and makes my job so much fun.

Very excited about her first live performance of ‘Insatiable’ tomorrow night on the Paul O’ Grady Show. Check it out!!!

Nadine Coyle glams up for the GQ awards

Today I was working with the stunning Nadine Coyle who was fresh off the plane from Lala land. She is back in London to promote the first single from her debut solo album ‘Insatiable’ (which i absolutely love)

Her skin was so flawless and radiant i barely used any foundation, just a little concealer, highlighter and a little bronzer. The LA lifestyle definitely suits her!!!

As she was going to the GQ awards and wearing a gorgeous little Sass and Bide dress i went for a sexy smokey look on her eyes finishing it off with her self designed lashes (Eylure Girls Aloud – Nadine) which are amazing. I use these a lot on many of my clients as they are a perfect balance …. not too heavy, but full enough to give the perfect amount of definition. Definitely a favourite!!!!

MOBO Awards Liverpool

Headed back up north yesterday to the European capital of culture…. Liverpool, the host city for the 2010 MOBO awards. It was crazy, paparazzi everywhere. I was doing make up for several artists at the event, so had to get there really early to get them ready for the red carpet starting at 5pm.

As the scousers are renowned for being super glamourous, i also had a long list of private clients who had also booked in to have their make up done for the awards. In total i think i made up 8 gorgeous faces, a long day but really enjoyed it as everyone wanted completely different looks and styles. I love my job

Im actually still laughing from todays show. I was down at the BBC studios doing Aleshas make up for Never Mind The Buzzcocks, presented by Mark Ronson. It was a lot of fun. She was joined by Mollie King, Tinie Tempah and Paul Foot …… who is absolutely hilarious!!!!! Great show

Heroes Concert

Help for Heroes was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in October 2007 out of a desire to help the wounded Servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq by raising money to buy much needed services to aid their recovery.

The event featured stars such as Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow, Alesha Dixon and James Blunt amongst many others, all of whom waived their fees to make sure that even more proceeds go to H4H. Such an amazing cause.

I did make up for Alesha Dixon, who performed twice in the night, firtsly opening the show and then returning to stage later on in the evening performing a second track from her newly released album.

I absolutely loved the make up looks today, as stage make up is so different from television make up and editorial make up. You can be really bold and creative. We went for a strong structured eye, linking in with the make up from her video, it looked really cool, and she loved trying out the different look.

The show was closed by Gary and Robbie, who performed together for the first time in 15 years. AMAZING!! All in all, a fantastic day for a wonderful cause.

Launch of Strictly Come dancing 2010

The time has arrived…….. Strictly Come dancing 2010!!!! This is such a great show and im so happy to be a part of it. Im part of Aleshas fabulous glam squad that is going to be with her the whole series, making her look stunning for every show.

Strictly is a great show for a make up artist as it is so glamourous and allows you to go all out and be really creative. It is going to be amazing working with Alesha on this, as she is so versatile and can pull off pretty much any look, so i will be working with her stylist and hair stylist to create completely different looks every week. Excitinggggg!!!

Today was the launch, so it was a lot of press shots and the pairing of the celebrities with their dance partners. Think it is going to be an amazing series! Bring it on!!!

This Morning

Spent the morning at The London studios doing Aleshas make up for This Morning. I actually love this show Phil and Holly are fab and the atmosphere in the studio is amazing!!

Alesha did a quick interview about her new album The Entertainer and the forthcoming Strictly Come Dancing series and then another powerful performance to end the show.

There was a big X Factor hype in the studio, as Cher Lloyd  was also being interviewed following her incredible audition over the weekend. She came in to see Alesha who gave her lots of advice.

Bless her, wishing her lots of luck in the next stages……… I would love to do her HD Brows, they would look soooooo much better! Yikes!!!!

BBC Breakfast News and T4

Another day of promo with the gorgeous Miss Dixon. It was a super early start down at the BBC studios, then straight off to T4 for the afternoon.

Really busy at the moment working with the beautiful Alesha Dixon, doing lots of TV performances and interviews for the promotion of her fabulous new single Drummer Boy.

Today we were at the BBC studios for The Michael Ball Show. She did a fantastic performance with all her dancers, and wore this amazing jump suit, so i did a really sexy smokey look to compliment it. She looked HOTTTT!

We then went on to The One Show where she had more interviews, before we were done for the day.

Alesha Dixon and Kimberley Walsh

Suck My Pop………. Had a really nice day today at the studios in Islington, London. Alesha was filming for Suck My Pop, presented by Kimberley Walsh. We spent the morning getting Alesha ready for her performance of Drummer Boy. For this, her fabulous stylist Katie Greengrass had brought along a really cool outfit which allowed me to go for a more edgier style with her make up. Alesha has such great features that she can pull off pretty much anything make up wise, and she is really open to trying out new looks. So she lets me experiment with all kinds of colours, textures shapes etc. Love being creative. So for this performance we went for a really strong tough look. An intense smokey feline effect on the eyes and a bright lip which was a blend of MACs impassioned and morange (magenta and orange) which looked AMAZING with her outfit!
Then in the afternoon, we toned her look down and headed to a nail salon close by where Kimberley interviewed Alesha over a pamper session. (See video of this interview in my videos section).

Drummer Boy

Today i was back working with the gorgeous Alesha Dixon on the promotion of her new single ‘Drummer Boy’ from her forthcoming album ‘The Entertainer’. Alesha is such a fabulous person to work with as she’s so much fun and absolutely stunning so she makes my job as a make up artist very easy!!
Today she was doing various interviews and a performance for T4, so we had 2 make up and outfit changes. Both of which looked super hot!! Im really excited about her new single, the video was shot in america, really love the outfits….. check it out!!!!

HD Brow training

I LOVE HD BROWS!!!!!!!
So i have just completed my 2 day training course for HD Brows. It was fabulous and has completely changed the way i look at brows. I am now even more brow obsessed than i was before and i cant wait to start doing this treatment on my clients. It is going to make my job as a make up artist so much easier, as having a perfectly shaped brow dramatically enhances the features and gives structure to the face!
HD Brows really is brow artistry. Its such a high precision procedure that transforms even the most over plucked brow into its perfect shape.
I have a long list of clients that cant wait to have this treatment done, so i am so grateful to Nilam and her team for introducing me to HD Brows and for the fantastic training. I feel this is a skill that is really going to benefit me as a make up artist.

Wedding make up for Nilam Patel

Had a fabulous day today working along side Yasmina Bentaieb doing bridal make up for the stunning Nilam Patel and her beautiful bridesmaids. I feel so lucky to have been able to work with Nilam as she is highly respected within the beauty industry. With over 15 years experience in the industy she has gone on to open an extreme makeover clinic in Milton Keynes, which has gained a reputation as one of the best clinics in the UK. She has also established herself amongst the elite in permanent make up throughout Europe. And if that wasnt enough, through her passion and forte in eyebrow shaping she has now launched the amazing HD Brow brand!!!!!

Nilam has invited me to come along and train with her in HD Brows! This is something that im sooooo excited about, as i share her passion for brows, its such an important part of make up which is often overlooked! I cant wait to become a HD Brow specialist!!!!!!!!!
